Presence Film
Soderbergh challenges his creative boundaries in this clever supernatural story captured wholly from the perspective of a ghost. When a household including mother Rebekah plus Callina Liang as Chloe occupies their recent residence, the camera – representing the ghost – tracks their movements. The daughter appears conscious of the ghostly being, and the entity appears protective of her. However, the motive remains? It's a fun idea that avoids overstaying, including a revelation that may be unexpected. Saturday 11 October, 4.35pm, 10.10pm, Sky Cinema Premiere

This Creepy Thriller
The director's locked-room horror stands strong despite the lack of a continuation. Set in the late 70s in Denver, multiple kidnappings has rendered the children on edge. Once Finney is taken by the villain and locked up in a cellar, he anticipates a fatal end. However, the old telephone in the room repeatedly calls, with eerie communicators providing assistance, and the prescient dreams from his sibling Gwen might rescue him. A genuinely scary movie. This Saturday, nighttime, the Film4 channel
The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the battle between faith and wealth, the winner is obvious for Mammon in Michael Showalter's brilliantly over-the-top true story of the disgraced televangelist and her criminal husband. Andrew Garfield acts as the corrupt Bakker, who states initially, “God does not want us to be poor,”. He and Tammy Faye begin monetising the people's spiritual convictions. It's a riot of poor styling, overdone appearance and insincerity, however Jessica Chastain manages to depict the real-life figure in a likable light. October 14th, late night, Film4
