The City of Angels experienced widespread festivities after the Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-game World Series title. Supporters across the globe united with Angelenos in jubilation, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured back-to-back championships.
Local celebrations featured a downtown parade on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.
Social media videos depict thousands of Los Angeles residents flooding downtown streets, many carrying homemade signs and team flags. The squad was seen traveling proudly on a open-top bus through the masses, raising the championship trophy high.
“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” the star player stated through an interpreter.
The procession path concluded at Dodger Stadium, where the players walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist cruising a light blue vintage Cadillac around the stadium’s outfield.
Celebrations started well before the procession, with supporters setting off flares in the roads of Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.
The World Series MVP, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented directly about the win.

In contrast, the team owner was met with a cooler reception at the rally. Video footage from the event seem to depict him walking onstage to a combination of applause and boos, with jeers interrupting his address.
The World Series served as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for the city. An estimated 225,000 people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to team member one athlete, supporters this year showed as much if not more support.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
