NFL 2025 season: Week six
Live coverage includes text commentary for the weekend matchups via various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard through designated networks for another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).
We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , following recent talk regarding two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.
Notable in those games were the number of infractions both committed. Philadelphia did so in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the final quarter against Denver, set to play overseas this weekend.
However it was good to observe that Denver quarterback the rookie was able to overcome that deficit and then lead three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, securing the game 21-17.
The Broncos boast the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They rank number one in goal-line defense, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and Denver prevailed in that contest.
They had effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't always rushing more than four defenders but they could position two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and send a slot defender off the edge.
At the start of the season, it was noted during a show how Denver might emerge as this season's dark horses. They ended last season well and excelled in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?
New TE their tight end has excelled big while new RB JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).
I love that head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.
That shows how Denver are a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because you can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in positive situations.
It's also helped QB the young passer, who entered the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to pass all over, however they lack in the same way that Nix has. He boasts incredible arm talent, a unique trait, plus he's so athletic.
His assets include his mobility, being able to throw on the run, and finding different arm angles to deliver the pass when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He can throw that layered pass across the middle or past defenders.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays a lot of composure under pressure and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and is able pass under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains very decisive.
When you consistently rush it eats up the clock and makes the opponent to be on the field extended periods, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defense has to cover the area downfield side to side. This proves draining.
Nix has bitten back at Payton during games at times and it seems the coach likes that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is kind of like moldable clay. He can really build something up how he desires to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.
Payton has won a championship and now passed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the success Denver are experiencing on offence is largely down to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with Nix aids shape him into who he is.
There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you through difficult moments and boost self-belief.
I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.
Right now, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're working above average, that's a solid position to hold their division. The key is is maintain this trajectory.
They excel at leaning into their forte, that is the ground game, and this is precisely what they should do against the New York Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad without a win any game.
Since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are the first team to go without any turnovers through five games, which is kind of shocking considering that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss by the Jaguars.
Following the upcoming matchup, Denver face a manageable slate until their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
Looking at their division, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the West.
This hinges on what version of the Chiefs they face because Denver {beat|def
